Door to Door Marketing with Door Hangers
Long before it seemed everyone took their marketing efforts online to target their audiences with cheap advertising campaigns and search engine optimization strategies, there was the low-tech art of door-to-door marketing. You may be surprised to learn this time-tested method has not gone the way of the Dodo bird and is actually a viable, effective, inexpensive marketing strategy. Door to door marketing allows for better penetration than many other forms of marketing because it is less frequently ignored and, because of this, increases awareness at a greater rate. While no marketing tactic is completely foolproof, door to door marketing may be the biggest bang for the buck, especially for new businesses.
If you are thinking of a door to door campaign, you may not know where to start or how best to approach things. Well, it is easier than you think and there are many, many ways to showcase your company and its products or services. Here are a few great door to door marketing vehicles:
- Door hangers. These are a great tool for door to door marketing. They do not blow away and will stay put until removed.
- Flyers. Be sure if you choose to distribute flyers, you make sure they are secured in/on the doors of the houses you visit.
- Coupons. While these can be part of any door to door marketing piece, you can create a coupon and insert them into door frames and mail slots
- Brochures. These are more expensive than other marketing pieces but can provide more information on your company and may be preferable in some cases.
- Newsletters. Provide information and show your expertise with monthly or quarterly newsletters that are relevant to both your industry and your readers.
No matter what you decide to do, be sure to put your best foot forward with quality copy, nice graphics and eye-catching colors. If your design skills are not great (and whose are?) you will want to work with a professional designer and printer who will not only create a really attractive piece, but will be able to advise you on some strategies for making the most of your door to door campaign. Once you decide this is a good use of your marketing dollars, you will be surprised by your options and the number of resources out there designed to help you be successful. |
